‘Imagine grief like a tidal wave. Picture yourself stretching out your arms and trying to hold it back. Your arms are strong, but the waves are stacking up. Eventually they’re going to hit. No matter how powerful you are, you’re not more powerful than the ocean. Imagine yourself diving through those waves. As your emotions arise, you allow them in and through. In and through. Until the tides recede.’
